Overview
NetApp FAS2820 packs two HA controllers and 12 internal drive slots into a 2U chassis. It runs ONTAP, starting at ONTAP 9.13.1RC1, and serves block and file from the same system.
Each HA pair has 128GB of memory and 4 PCIe slots. Onboard connectivity per HA pair is 4 x 25GbE and 4 x 12Gb SAS, the SAS ports being used for shelf expansion. With cards fitted, the pair supports up to 12 x 25GbE, 8 x 10GbE and 8 x 32Gb FC ports. Raw capacity tops out at 3.168 PB.
Protocol support is broad: FC, FCoE, iSCSI, NVMe/FC and NVMe/TCP for block, plus NFS v3, v4.0 and v4.1, SMB 2.x and 3.x, and S3. The system weighs 25.9 kg.
