Overview
The FAS8200 houses a NetApp HA controller pair in a single 3U chassis and runs ONTAP for unified SAN and NAS storage. It has no internal drive bays of its own; capacity comes from external disk shelves, up to a maximum of 480 drives.
Per HA pair, the system has 2 x 64-bit 16-core 1.7GHz processors and 256GB of memory, with 4 PCIe slots for expansion cards. Onboard ports are 4 x 10GbE RJ45, 4 x 10GbE SFP+, 8 x UTA2 and 8 x 12Gb mini-SAS HD for shelf connections.
