Overview
Sixty drives in 4U is the reason to choose the NetApp DS460C. The bays sit in 5 drawers of 12 drive slots each, so you can pull one drawer to service drives while the rest of the shelf keeps running. It connects to ONTAP FAS and AFF controllers over 12Gb SAS.
Two I/O modules handle the connection to the controllers, and the shelf accepts IOM12, IOM12B or IOM12C modules. Cooling comes from 2 hot-swap fan modules, and the power supplies are hot-swap as well. Plan the install with the weight in mind: the empty shelf is 60 kg before any drives go in, so a lift or a second person is a good idea.
The DS460C is available New, Refurbished or Used. New and Refurbished shelves can be ordered with 1 year or 3 years of warranty. Used shelves carry 90 days. Tell us which I/O modules and drives you want fitted and we will price the full configuration.
