Overview

Built for 10G server access, the Juniper QFX5100-48S-3AFO has 48 SFP+/SFP ports at 1/10GbE and 6 QSFP+ uplinks at 40GbE, for 54 ports in total. Switching capacity is 1440 Gbps in a 1U chassis.

For out-of-band access there are dual management ports in SFP and RJ-45 form. The switch runs on a 1.5 GHz dual-core Intel processor with 8 GB of memory and a 32 GB SSD.

Two JPSU-650W-AC-AFO power supplies provide redundancy, and QFX5100-FAN-AFO redundant fans move air front-to-back. Typical power draw is 150 W, and the switch weighs 9.9 kg. The AFO airflow suits racks where the ports face the cold aisle; if yours face the other way, ask about the reverse-airflow version.
