Overview

The Juniper EX4600-40F-AFO pairs 24 SFP+ ports for 1/10GbE with 4 QSFP+ ports at 40GbE. The QSFP+ ports are channelizable, so each one can be split into lower-speed links. Two expansion slots add room for more interfaces, and switching capacity reaches 1440 Gbps in a 1U chassis.

On the control side there is a 1.5 GHz dual-core Intel processor, 4 GB of memory and a 32 GB SSD. Power comes from 2 x JPSU-650W-AC-AFO supplies, both hot-swappable, with a maximum draw of 365 W. Cooling is handled by 5 x QFX5100-FAN-AFO hot-swappable fan modules moving air front-to-back. The switch weighs 9.84 kg, and the chassis model is EX4600-40F-S.

Virtual Chassis supports up to 10 members, so a group of these switches can be run as one logical device.
