Overview

Top-of-rack 10G server access is the classic job for the QFX5100-48S. This build has 48 SFP+/SFP ports at 1/10GbE for servers and 6 QSFP+ ports at 40GbE for uplinks to the spine, for 54 ports in total. Dual SFP/RJ-45 management ports are also on board.

Switching capacity is 1440 Gbps. The control plane runs on a 1.5 GHz dual-core Intel processor with 8 GB of memory and a 32 GB SSD.

The 3AFI version uses back-to-front airflow. It comes with 2 x AC supplies (JPSU-650W-AC-AFI) and redundant QFX5100-FAN-AFI fans. Power draw is 150 W. The switch is 1 rack unit, weighs 9.9 kg and measures 4.37 x 44.09 x 52.02 cm.
