Overview

Built for 10G aggregation in campus cores and small data centers, the EX4600-40F-AFI offers 24 SFP+ ports at 1/10GbE and 4 QSFP+ ports at 40GbE that can be channelized. Two expansion slots add room for more ports, and the switch counts 28 fixed ports in total.

Switching capacity is 1440 Gbps. A 1.5 GHz dual-core Intel processor, 4 GB of memory and a 32 GB SSD run Junos. Up to 10 units can be combined into one Virtual Chassis.

The AFI suffix means back-to-front airflow. Power comes from 2 x JPSU-650W-AC-AFI supplies and cooling from 5 x QFX5100-FAN-AFI fans, all hot-swappable. Maximum power draw is 365 W. The switch is 1 rack unit, measures 1.72 x 17.36 x 20.48 in and weighs 9.84 kg. Its chassis model is EX4600-40F-S.
