Overview
The Dell PowerVault ME4012 is a 2U array with 12 x 3.5in bays, and it accepts 2.5in drives in carriers. It works as SAN or DAS storage, with host connectivity options of 16Gb FC, 10Gb iSCSI or 12Gb SAS.
The controllers are single or dual, each with 8GB. Capacity grows with ME412, ME424 or ME484 expansion enclosures, up to 264 drives.
The three host interface choices let you match the array to your network: Fibre Channel for an existing SAN, iSCSI for Ethernet-based storage or SAS for direct attachment to a few servers. Confirm which option your configuration includes when you request pricing.
