HPE spare P31231-001 is the System I/O board for two Gen10 Plus rack servers: the ProLiant DL360 Gen10 Plus and the DL380 Gen10 Plus. It is the enhanced version and ships mounted on its sub-pan, the metal tray that carries the board into the chassis.
The system I/O board is the main board of the server, so this part is normally ordered to repair a failed unit. Supplying it with the sub-pan makes the swap quicker, because the board does not need to be moved onto a new tray during the repair.
Before you order, confirm the server model and generation. The board is listed for Gen10 Plus systems only, so earlier Gen10 servers need a different part.
