Overview
The Dell PowerSwitch N1524 (MPN N1524) gives a wiring closet 24 downlink ports at 10/100/1000BASE-T and four 10G SFP+ ports for uplinks, 28 ports in total. It sits in one rack unit and is powered by a single integrated 40W AC supply.
The routing level is Layer 3 Lite, so it handles basic routing tasks beyond plain switching. Switching capacity is 128 Gbps. Up to 4 switches can be stacked at 40Gbps full duplex, which lets a small site manage several units as one. This model has no PoE, so phones, access points and cameras need their own power or a separate injector.
The four SFP+ ports take 10G optics or cables toward a distribution or core switch. The highest port speed on the unit is 10GbE.
