Juniper MX304 2U Router Premium, Dual Routing Engines, 4.8 Tbps

Two Routing Engines are the defining feature of the Juniper MX304-PREM. With 2 x JNP304-RE-S or JNP304-RE-LT-R installed, the control plane has a second engine ready to take over, which matters on routers where a control-plane fault must not take the box down.

Because both Routing Engine positions are occupied, this configuration leaves 2 slots for MX304-LMIC16-BASE line cards. Throughput is 4800 Gbps in a 2U chassis.

The rest of the hardware covers power, cooling and timing. It ships with 2 x JNP-PWR2200 power supplies (AC, DC or HV), 1+1 redundant, and 3 x JNP-FAN-2RU hot-swappable fan trays with front-to-back airflow. Timing interfaces are 10 MHz, BITS, PPS, PTP and ToD. It weighs 31.99 kg and measures 8.89 x 44.09 x 60.99 cm.
