Five meters of passive copper make the Juniper JNP-QSFP-DAC-5M the longest cable in this 40GbE QSFP+ group. Both ends are QSFP+ connectors, and the speed is 40GbE.
The extra length helps when the two switches sit at different heights in separate cabinets, or when the cable has to run through a managed path before it reaches the port. Longer copper is thicker and stiffer, so plan the route and support the cable along the way.
