Overview

For a smaller SAN, the IBM SAN24B-6 offers 24 SFP+ ports in a 1U chassis. Each port runs at 4, 8, 16 or 32Gb FC, so it can connect older hosts and arrays alongside current 32Gb equipment. The machine type is 8960-F24, and the OEM equivalent is the Brocade G610.

Ports are activated with ports-on-demand licenses in 8-port increments: 8, 16 or 24 ports. Aggregate bandwidth is 768 Gbps and latency is 900 ns.
