Overview
Reusing existing duplex fiber is the draw of the HPE Aruba Networking JL308A. It is a 40G QSFP+ BiDi transceiver with an LC connector, running over multimode fiber for up to 150 m.
BiDi optics send and receive on different wavelengths over the same fiber, so a duplex LC pair is enough, where standard 40G short-reach optics need parallel MPO cabling. It has one port at 40GbE.
