Overview

Dell WW56V is the BOSS-N1 boot controller. It has 2 M.2 slots for NVMe drives and supports RAID 0 and RAID 1. The host interface is PCIe Gen3 x4, and the drives are hot-plug.

The purpose of a BOSS card is to keep the operating system on its own mirrored pair of small drives, separate from your storage drives. Mirroring with RAID 1 protects the boot volume if one M.2 drive fails, and hot-plug lets you replace it without taking the server down.

Dell lists PowerEdge 16th generation servers, including R260, R360, R660, R660xs, R760, R760xa, T160 and T360. If your server is not on that list, send us the model and we will check.

WW56V is available New and Refurbished with 1 year or 3 years of warranty, and Used with 90 days. Put the quantity in your request and we will reply with pricing and lead time.
