Overview

The PERC H965e is the external-attach member of the H965 family. It is a SAS RAID controller with 8GB of cache, 22.5/12Gb/s SAS and 16 external ports (4 x4), connecting to the host over PCIe Gen4. The Dell part number is 405-BBBT.

RAID levels 0, 1, 5, 6, 10, 50 and 60 are supported, and it supports up to 240 SAS drives. The point of an external RAID controller is to manage drives in separate enclosures, with the arrays defined on the card rather than in the operating system.

It is a SAS-only listing, with no SATA or NVMe stated. The compatibility list takes in many PowerEdge servers, among them the R660, R760 and R770.

The alternative part number 9VN17 is on record. We offer the H965e new and refurbished, with a warranty of 1 year or 3 years on both conditions.
