Arista 25GBASE-LR SFP Transceiver, 10 km Single-Mode LC

A ten kilometer reach at 25GbE is the rating of the Arista 25GBASE-LR SFP Transceiver, part number SFP-25G-LR. It uses a duplex LC connector over single-mode fiber, and its form factor is SFP28.

That distance covers campus backbones, links between buildings and connections to nearby sites. Because the connector is LC, ordinary duplex single-mode patch cords carry the link, and no special parallel cabling is needed.

The module has one port at 25GbE. Planning is straightforward but not trivial: measure the real fiber route, check for splices and patch panels, and confirm that both ends have compatible modules.
