That length helps when devices sit in neighboring racks or when cable routing takes a detour. Walk the real path first, through cable managers and around door frames, because a copper cable cannot be extended and a route that turns out longer needs a different part.

It is a single-port, fixed-length cable with QSFP-DD connectors attached to both ends. For link distances beyond what copper covers, active optical cables or transceivers over fiber are the alternative.
