Do processor kits include a heatsink?
It depends on the part number. Some OEM processor kits include a heatsink and others do not. The product title and specifications state what the manufacturer includes.
Can I buy a single power supply as a spare?
Yes. Power supplies, RAID controllers and processors are sold individually, so you can order spares or upgrade parts for existing servers.
Will a power supply from another server generation fit?
Usually not. Power supplies change shape, connector and firmware between brands and generations, even at the same wattage. Use the OEM part number from the existing unit, and keep both supplies in a redundant pair identical.
Can I add a second processor to my server?
On two-socket servers, yes. The second processor must be the same model as the first, and the server may need a heatsink, fan or memory for the second socket. Send the server model and the installed processor in your RFQ.
