Toshiba MG10-D 4TB 7.2K SATA 6G LFF 512e Hard Drive

The Toshiba MG10ADA400E is a 4TB member of the MG10-D series. Its SATA interface runs at 6Gb/s and it installs in any 3.5in LFF bay that takes SATA drives.

Here is what sits behind that capacity. Recording is CMR. The drive is air filled, not helium. A 7200 rpm spindle and 512 MB of cache support a rated sustained transfer of 281 MB/s. Sectors are 512e, and the drive draws 8.6 W in operation.

Toshiba backs the design with a 2,000,000-hour MTTF figure and a workload rating of 550 TB per year. The unrecoverable read error rate is 1 per 10^15 bits. Those ratings suit RAID sets in file and application servers, small storage arrays and backup targets.
