At 15.36TB in one 2.5in bay, the Kioxia PM5-R KPM51RUG15T3 lets you pack a lot of flash into a small number of slots. It is a read-intensive SAS SSD rated at 1 drive write per day, aimed at large datasets that are mostly read: archives on flash, media libraries, analytics stores and backup targets that need fast restores.
The interface is dual-port SAS at 12 Gb/s, and sequential reads are rated at 2100 MB/s. Inside is BiCS FLASH 3D TLC. Physically it is a 15 mm SFF drive weighing 0.13 kg, and its MTTF rating is 2,500,000 hours.
A drive this large holds a lot of data per failure domain, so plan RAID rebuild times with that in mind.
