Kioxia CM9-R 15.36TB Read Intensive NVMe PCIe Gen5 E3.S Solid State Drive

Buyers who already run E3.S chassis will recognize the shape of the Kioxia CM9-R 15.36TB, part number KCM9XRJE15T3. It stores 15.36TB and connects through NVMe on PCIe Gen5.

The drive is graded Read Intensive, 1 DWPD. That puts it in the group of drives chosen for serving data rather than constantly changing it, for example indexes, media files or backup targets that are read back often. Heavy write workloads should look at a Mixed Use class instead.

Because E3.S is its form factor, the server needs matching E3.S bays; a chassis with other drive bays cannot use it. Check this before you order. Available conditions are new, refurbished and used; warranty is 1 year or 3 years for new and refurbished and 90 days for used.
