Overview
The Dell PowerSwitch S4148T-ON 48-Port 10GBASE-T, 2-Port 40G and 4-Port 100G Switch, part number S4148T-ON, is the copper version of a 48-port top-of-rack switch with mixed-speed uplinks.
The 48 downlink ports are 10GBASE-T, which connects servers over twisted-pair cabling. Uplinks are two 40G QSFP+ ports and four 100G QSFP28 ports, for 54 ports in total. The maximum port speed is 100GbE and switching capacity is 880 Gbps. Two AC power supplies are fitted. The switch works at Layer 3 and takes 1 RU.
Only the six uplink ports need optics or cables, which are separate parts, so the cost of a full rack stays in the server-side copper.
