Overview
Dell Networking Z9100-ON is a 1U spine and leaf switch with 32 x 100GbE QSFP28 ports plus 2 x 10GbE SFP+ ports, 34 in total. The QSFP28 ports can break out to 128 x 25GbE, 128 x 10GbE or 64 x 50GbE, so one switch can serve a mix of server speeds.
Switching capacity is 3200 Gbps and the forwarding rate is 4400 Mpps. Latency is rated at 300ns for Layer 2 and 400ns for Layer 3. The switch has a 16 MB packet buffer and 8 GB of CPU memory. It runs Dell Networking OS9, and ONIE lets you load a third-party network OS instead.
Power comes from 2 hot-swappable redundant AC supplies rated 100-240V. Typical draw is 486 W and maximum is 605 W. Airflow can run I/O panel to PSU or PSU to I/O panel, so order the direction that matches your hot and cold aisles. The chassis measures 1.72 x 17.1 x 18 in and weighs 9.98 kg.
