Intel's i350 is a well-known gigabit controller, and Dell 540-BDIV puts 4 RJ45 ports on a low-profile PCIe card. It is for servers with small slots, where a full-height bracket would not fit.

Dell's compatibility list is long. It starts with PowerEdge C4140, C6520 and C6525 and covers many R-series servers, from the R240 up through the latest generations, so one card covers a lot of a mixed estate.
