Overview
The Cisco Catalyst 3560-CX Compact 12-Port Switch, IP Base, MPN WS-C3560CX-12TC-S, is a small Layer 3 switch without PoE. It offers 12 x 10/100/1000 downlink ports and 2 x 1G copper plus 2 x 1G SFP uplinks.
With the IP Base feature set it can route as well as switch, which is helpful at a small site where a separate router would be an extra box. The PoE spec is none, so devices must be powered separately. Maximum port speed is 1GbE.
The chassis is compact and fanless, so it works on a shelf, a desk or in a cabinet without noise. Twelve ports cover a small team or a lab, and the SFP uplinks let you connect over fiber where copper runs are limited.
