Do drives come with the correct tray or carrier?

OEM drive part numbers such as HPE SmartCarrier or Lenovo hot-swap drives are listed with their carrier where the manufacturer includes one. The carrier type is shown in the specifications when known.

What happens to data on used drives?

Tell us in your request if you need drives sanitized to a specific standard, such as NIST SP 800-88, or a certificate of sanitization, and we include it in your quote.

Can I search by the number printed on the drive label?

Yes. Search by option kit, spare or OEM model number. Alternative part numbers are listed on each product page and matched by search.

Can I mix drives from different makers in one RAID array?

It often works, but it is not recommended. Drives with the same nominal capacity can differ slightly in size, firmware and sector format, and a smaller drive cannot replace a larger one. Matching the existing OEM part number is the safe choice.
