This model uses CMR recording with a 512e sector format. Its cache is 512MB and the maximum transfer rate is 190 MB/s. The workload rating is 120 TB/yr.

Power draw is 8.9 W when operating and 6.7 W at idle, and the drive weighs 695 g. Plan for the extra power and airflow that a large 3.5in drive needs in a desktop case.

Who is it for? Desktop users who work with large files, such as video, photo libraries or local backups, and want the space in one internal drive rather than several smaller ones. It also works as a desktop data drive alongside a separate boot disk.
