Seagate Exos X22 22TB 7.2K SAS 12G LFF SED Hard Drive

In the Seagate Exos X22 22TB 7.2K SAS 12G LFF SED Hard Drive (ST22000NM004E), the SED label tells you the drive supports self-encryption. It is a 22TB drive on a 12 Gbps SAS interface, spinning at 7200 rpm, in a 3.5in LFF body with a 512 MB cache and 512e sectors.

Buyers deciding between this model and the neighboring SED-FIPS version should compare their compliance language to the label. This one is plain SED, and the FIPS variant has a separate part number.

A high-capacity SAS SED drive is typical equipment for secure bulk storage in enterprise arrays. The drive carries the encryption capability, while the array or controller handles authentication keys.

No alternative part numbers are listed, so ST22000NM004E is the number to use in requests.

It is available new and refurbished, each with a warranty of 1 year or 3 years.
