Seagate Exos X22 20TB 7.2K SAS 12G LFF SED Hard Drive

Another SED entry in the X22 line, the Seagate Exos X22 20TB 7.2K SAS 12G LFF SED Hard Drive (ST20000NM001E) pairs 20TB of capacity with a SAS interface at 12 Gbps. The drive spins at 7200 rpm and is a 3.5in LFF model with a 512 MB cache and 512e sectors.

SED is the encryption label. If your storage design requires self-encrypting drives, this is the 20TB SAS part that meets it without stepping up to the separate SED-FIPS version.

There is a practical angle for anyone replacing drives in a running system: self-encrypting drives are often locked to a key held by the controller, so a replacement is not always a simple plug-in. Plan the key handling before you swap.

There are no alternative part numbers listed.

The ST20000NM001E can be requested new, refurbished or used. New and refurbished drives carry a warranty of 1 year or 3 years. Used drives carry 90 days.
