Overview

Four Fibre Channel ports at 16Gb FC on one mezzanine card: the ThinkSystem Emulex LPm16004B-L (MPN 7ZT7A00522) uses the Emulex LPm16004B-L controller, with feature code AVCX.

Listed compatible systems: Lenovo ThinkSystem SN550, SN850 and SN550 V2. Four ports give a node more paths into the SAN, whether for bandwidth, for separate fabrics, or for several storage networks, without using a second mezzanine position.

The chassis has to carry every port through Fibre Channel modules, so check that the chassis can use all four before paying for the extra ports.

The adapter is an HBA for storage traffic and does not handle Ethernet.
