Overview

A pair of 16Gb FC ports on an Emulex LPe31002 (XE501) controller is what the Lenovo Emulex 16Gb Gen6 Fibre Channel Dual-Port HBA, part number 01CV840, delivers. It is a Gen 6 Fibre Channel card for a PCIe 3.0 x8 slot, and each port runs at 16, 8 or 4Gb FC, so it can join an older fabric as well as a 16Gb one.

Two 16Gb FC SW SFP+ transceivers come with the card. They are 850nm modules with LC connectors for multimode fiber, so plan LC multimode cables to your SAN switches. Two ports give redundant paths to two fabrics, handled by the host's multipath software. The Lenovo feature code is ATZV.

The HBA fits a wide span of Lenovo servers: ThinkSystem V3 models such as the SR630 V3, SR650 V3, SR665 V3 and SR860 V3, V2 models such as the SR630 V2 and SR650 V2, the original SR630, SR650 and ST550, and System x machines including the x3550 M5, x3650 M5 and x3850 X6.
