Overview

The Lenovo Emulex 16Gb Gen6 Fibre Channel Single-Port HBA, part number 01CV830, connects a server to a SAN through one port at 16Gb FC. It is built on a Broadcom Emulex Gen6 controller and installs in a PCIe slot.

Single-port HBAs are used in two situations. Some servers need only one fabric path, such as test systems or hosts with a secondary adapter in another slot. Others use two single-port cards so that a failed card does not take down both paths. This part fits either plan.
