Copper 10GBase-T suits sites that already have suitable structured cabling and want to move servers up from 1GbE without replacing patch runs with fiber. Because the port is RJ45, there are no modules to buy, and the card plugs into the same style of switch port your gigabit servers use today, provided that switch offers 10GbE copper ports.
