Hitachi 3290735-A is the backup battery module, or BKM, for VSP G200 controllers. It supplies power to protect controller memory if mains power is lost, so cached data is not lost with it. Battery modules age over time. A battery warning on the array, or a scheduled refresh, is the usual reason to order one. Replacing the module brings controller protection back to normal.
