Dell 3.84TB SAS 12Gb/s Read Intensive 2.5in SSD (X8F87)

Dell X8F87 puts 3.84TB of flash behind a 12Gb/s SAS interface. It is a 2.5in SFF drive with a Read Intensive endurance rating.

SAS brings two things a SATA SSD does not: a faster 12Gb/s link and support on enterprise SAS controllers and backplanes. Combined with nearly four terabytes per bay, that makes the X8F87 a fit for large read-mostly volumes such as analytics stores, media libraries and virtualization datastores that see more reads than writes.

If the workload is write-heavy, consider a Mixed Use SSD instead. For read-mostly arrays, this drive lets you build capacity in fewer bays than a set of smaller SSDs.
