Overview

The Dell PowerEdge R720xd is a 2U, 2-socket rack server built for storage density. It supports Intel Xeon E5-2600 and E5-2600 v2 processors, with 24 DDR3 memory slots and a ceiling of 768GB.

Its drive layouts are the focus: up to 26 x 2.5in bays, or 12 x 3.5in plus 2 x 2.5in. The second layout puts bulk 3.5in storage up front and leaves small bays for operating system or cache drives.

That makes the R720xd a fit for file servers, backup repositories, software-defined storage and any job where drive count matters more than a short chassis.

It is available new, refurbished and used. New and refurbished systems include a choice of 1 year or 3 years of warranty, and used systems include 90 days. Send your drive plan and memory target and we will reply with pricing.
