Overview

The FC640 is not a standalone rack server. It is a blade-format compute sled with two processor sockets, built for 2nd Generation Intel Xeon Scalable processors. The form factor is Blade.

Memory is 16 DDR4 slots with a maximum of 2048 GB, which is ample for a sled-sized system. Local storage is limited to up to 2 x 2.5in drives, either SAS, SATA or NVMe, so most data is expected to live on shared storage rather than inside the sled.
