Not every server needs large modules. The Dell 6VDNY is an 8GB DDR4 RDIMM for builds where the memory requirement is modest, such as infrastructure servers, appliances or systems that need every channel populated at a low total.

It runs at 3200 MT/s and is single rank, with a 1Rx8 layout of x8 DRAM chips. ECC is supported, and as a registered DIMM it buffers command and address signals to reduce load on the memory controller.

Filling all channels with matched modules gives the processor full memory bandwidth, even when total capacity is small. If you are mixing with existing memory, keep the type, speed and rank layout the same.
