Overview

Parallel optics at 100GbE are the territory of the Dell 407-BCEX. It is a QSFP28 SR4 transceiver with an MPO-12 connector, a reach of 100 m and an 85C temperature rating.

Because the connector is MPO-12, the cabling has to be parallel multimode with matching polarity; duplex LC patch cords will not connect to it. Dell lists many PowerEdge systems as compatible, so check your server against that list before ordering.
