Overview
Ten meters of active optical cable lets the Cisco QSFP-H40G-AOC10M bridge racks that are too far apart for passive copper. It has QSFP+ connectors at both ends and is rated at 40GbE.
Because the optics are built into the cable, it is one part to order, not a transceiver pair plus patch cord. The cable is lighter than copper of the same length, which can matter in crowded trays.
