Cisco 100GBASE-SL4 Short-Link QSFP28 Transceiver Module, 850 nm Multimode MPO-12

Very short multimode links are the target of the Cisco 100GBASE-SL4 Short-Link QSFP28 Transceiver Module, part number QSFP-100G-SL4. It runs at 100GbE over 850 nm multimode fiber and connects through an MPO-12 connector.

Reach is rated at 20 m on OM3 and 30 m on OM4/OM5. That makes it a fit for links inside a row or between adjacent racks, not for runs across a hall. If you need more distance, the other 100GbE multimode modules in the Cisco range use different reach ratings, so measure first.

The MPO-12 connector means parallel fiber cabling, so your patch cords and trunks must be MPO-12 types rather than duplex LC. This is the most common reason a short-link module fails to link on first install: the cabling does not match the connector.

The form factor is QSFP28, with one port. Check host support for the module in your switch or adapter documentation.
