Overview
CFP is an older, larger module format than the small pluggables now common at 100G, and the Cisco CFP-100G-ER4 belongs to hardware that still uses it. The title lists 100GBASE-ER4, a single-mode reach of 40 km, SC connectors and a wavelength of 1310 nm.
A note on the optics: four lanes sit in the 1310 nm band, from 1295.6 to 1309.1 nm, and links over 30 km are engineered links. In other words, at the far end of the range the fiber route needs design review, not just a plug-in swap.
The SC connector is also less common than LC on newer modules, so check your patching. The module can be requested new, refurbished or used. New and refurbished units list 1 year or 3 years of warranty, and used units list 90 days.
