A switch router rather than a plain switch, the Arista DCS-7280SR3-48YC8-F combines 48 SFP ports at 1, 10 or 25G with eight 100G QSFP100 uplinks, 56 ports in all. Switching capacity is 4000 Gbps and the top port speed is 100GbE. The airflow is front-to-rear.

Server racks with 25G network cards are the typical match for the SFP downlinks, while the 100G ports carry traffic upward. The downlinks also accept 10G and 1G optics, which helps if the rack has mixed generations of equipment.
